1. Why am I using NEXIUM?

NEXIUM contains the active ingredient esomeprazole. NEXIUM is used to treat acid reflux (heartburn) and other gastric problems, to relieve symptoms such as heartburn, stomach pain, or acid regurgitation. It is also used to reduce the frequency and severity of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

2. What should I know before I use NEXIUM?

Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole or any of the ingredients listed at the end of the CMI.

Talk to your doctor if you have any other medical conditions, take any other medicines, or are pregnant or plan to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

4. How do I use NEXIUM?

• Follow all directions given to you by your doctor and pharmacist.
• The usual dose of NEXIUM for adults is one tablet taken once a day at the same time each day.

5. What should I know while using NEXIUM?

Things you should do	Remind any doctor, dentist or pharmacist you visit that you are using NEXIUM. Tell your doctor if your symptoms worsen or if they get worse.

Driving or using machines	NEXIUM may cause dizziness and drowsiness.

Looking after your medicine	Keep your NEXIUM tablets in the blister pack until it is time to take them.

6. Are there any side effects?

NEXIUM can cause side effects such as diarrhoea, indigestion or stomach cramps. If you develop any of these symptoms, tell your doctor. Side effects are usually mild and temporary.
